Site Overview

This family history documents the Maternal side of my family, the Dürrenbergers, who came to America in 1852 from Primisweiler, Germany.

This Dürrenberger family is not to be confused with the Durrenbergers who came to America from Alsace-Lorraine, and are not related as confirmed by DNA testing.

Durrenberger Family

of Württemberg, Germany

The descendants of

Martin Dürrenberger

A farmer from the village of Primisweiler, Württemberg, Germany, born about 1695.

The only Durrenberger from Primisweiler to migrate to America was Gebhard Ignatius Dürrenberger who came to America in 1852 and was a farmer in Sibley County, Minnesota. He died in 1900 at the age of 82 at his home in Le Sueur, Minnesota leaving a large family and many descendants.

His many descendants span several generations, one of which was my mother, Patricia Mary Durrenberger, born in 1926 at Perham, Minnesota.
